Passionate about the vital importance of long lasting high quality design in the built environment, Ian chose to emphasise this in his inaugural lecture as President of the Institution of Structural Engineers in 2017 and in his presentation at TED 2018. His focus is on conceiving and delivering the right solution to fit the context and creating structures of lasting value and delight.
